Reema and I hosted the Yaum-e-Shuhuda (Day of the Martyrs) event in Karachi this year.  It was not an easy task since last year the event was hosted by the great Moin Akhtar (may he rest in peace).  We decided to make two short videos as a tribute to the armed forces, particularly those who have become “shaheed” for Pakistan, particularly in this miserable war of terror.

I’m sharing these videos a day after the Indian rhetoric that they can now launch “operations” in Pakistan to fight terrorism.  We need to come together as one nation to let our enemies know that any violation of our honor and sovereignty will be met with great force.

I will try to translate these in English as well, but in the meantime I urge you to share this page extensively with all those who understand Urdu.  Particularly with the Indians who seem to be on a drunken high after the Osama Bin Laden incidence.

  1. Generalization cannot and should not be applied to any country or person. There is a weak link in every food chain in every country be it India or US or Pakistan. Not every1 is corrupt, not every1 is accusing Pakistan nor is every1 spotless & corrupt free in the Western World. Why do we humans not respect that each of us are different & have our own strengths & weakness. Army jawans in every country need to be respected & saluted at.

Thank you for your objectivity. Appreciated. Yes. Soldiers who lay their lives for their nations, for truth and justice, have to be respected and saluted.

      • It bothers me. When young soldiers give their LIVES for this nation, which is split into so many sects, tribes, clans, hunting each other like cannibals, blabbering pessimists and extremists. We are on war but we don’t realize it, the rich can’t get their eyes off their bank accounts and the poor can’t resist their starving stomachs. The rusted fraction of the youth has no direction, faith or motivation and the bright fraction is either on US or British soil, utilizing their high educational credentials. I have been taking keen interest in debates and speeches, talking about various prevailing issues in Pakistan, in school. I believe, standing in front of an audience and delivering a speech is nothing but just a competition, useless and absolutely pointless. At this point, if I had the opportunity to hold such an event, I would get orange suites tailored for candidates and tell them to clean the streets first. Clean Pakistan, first. Starting from their own homes. Hats off to Pakistan Army for still holding onto the strings, supporting Pakistan and always approaching the scene of crime like super-heros and good, honest people like you, Sir, who never give up and are still out there to contribute your half, to revolutionize this nation. You inspire me.
        Yours Sincerely.

  2. There are certainly a lot of details like that to take into consideration. That is a great point to bring up. I offer the thoughts above as general inspiration but clearly there are questions like the one you bring up where the most important thing will be working in honest good faith. I don?t know if best practices have emerged around things like that, but I am sure that your job is clearly identified as a fair game. Both boys and girls feel the impact of just a moment’s pleasure, for the rest of their lives.

I am a Pakistani muslim, proud to be one and i always thank Allah ji that i was born as a MUSLIM PAKISTANI not just muslim. I dont vow for wars and violence, its about time that we all no matter who and where we are from learn from history. But the day anybody tries to threaten will be there to protect Pakistan. At present we all need to work very hard to help our country fellows who need enlightening or guidance to stand amongst the world as proud Pakistanis and good human beings.

I am living in UK with my husband and family. I am a nurse. I have been watching your programes Mr.Faisal Qureshi keep up the good work. I must say about your wife Reema a very intelligent, elegant and supportive wife, if every household has a wife like her what would the world be. May Allah ji bestow you with more happiness, love and prosperity.

I would like to plea to all those patriotic Pakistanis to invest in Pakistan if we dont show believe in our own people who else will. Khuda ke liye stop complaining and start reforming your own lives and help those who cant or those who are relying on outsiders to help them lets make our fellowmen believe they are better than what they are now.

remember ur history nations who forget their history wont have a future.

Come on guys do something good.
Everytime I go to Pakistan I want to see a better Pakistan but its not going to happen if we believe that only one leader can change every thing, no I have to do my bit, like i want to do something in health sector as i am working in this field. Join me if u want to make a differnce.

  4. i live in germany with my husband and family.i have always been a true pakistani(to the extent my humble thoughts and actions concerned) but my love for pakistan got increased when i came to a land which did nt belong to me.we all know that in these days the stress and strain level in pakistan is extremely high, but faisal bhai we are exactly like that one body,as prophet mohamad(PBUH) said, whose all parts ache when one part is wounded.i listen and hear the heartless, senseless and traitor kinda pakis here who no longer own pakistan as their motherland.i truly believe that these selfish people cant harm us but to me its a Sin.do guide us what we can do here for development of pakistani image.last but not least these videos made me cry because all that you said and portrayed was reality.alah always bless these sons of my motherland.people like you and our armed forces are the people with purpose of life, others are as numb as dead.
